Confession of a Twitter Addict I knew I needed to be more involved online; I'm online all day,and it feels hollow at times. I saw other people having fun in forums (or arguing, whatever) but I didn't think I had enough to contribute. Then I met my new friend Christine. We met in person, here in Carmel. I liked her right away, and she loves the internet too. One of the first things Christine asked me was if I was on Twitter. I did have an account, but I have joined almost everything and didn't see the difference about Twitter; just another social site, right? Ummm, no. Twitter is amazing. I can pop in and catch up with any member whom I am linked to, anywhere in the world! It is purposely limited to a couple of sentences only, and personalities reveal themselves. It's almost voyeuristic: I take a 'peek' at someone bored at work, catching a flight, lying in bed daydreaming, whatever. Everyone who uses Twitter is just being themselves. If someone does start to blatantly promote, they will not be followed. It has turned out to be more than I expected, and I don't feel so alone sitting at my laptop.
